Cocobay, Antigua

Cocobay Resort is a romantic, all-inclusive resort on the west coast of Antigua, nestled into the hillside amid ten acres of tropical rainforest overlooking Ffryes Bay. The breath-taking views are a particular highlight of the adults-only resort, with the white sand beach and turquoise seas taking centre stage.

With 57 pastel-painted cottages and 4 larger plantation houses set amid pretty gardens, Cocobay offers authentic, boutique accommodation. All rooms have a private verandah with a hammock, the majority boasting striking sea views. It is worth upgrading to a Deluxe Pool Cottage which has a private plunge pool, or a Premium Waterfront Suite which also has an outdoor bathtub in which guests can recline while looking out to sea. The hilltop Plantation Houses have two bedrooms and are perfect for families or larger groups, accommodating four people with a separate living room.
The resort’s charming accommodation particularly appeals to honeymooners and wedding parties, with a full time wedding coordinator on hand.

Cocobay’s main restaurant is Rafters, an intimate venue where guests can enjoy meals throughout the day. Breakfast and lunch are served buffet-style, while dinner is a la carte except on Thursdays when a special Caribbean buffet is on offer.
Sheer Rocks is the resort’s second restaurant which is also open to non-residents and isn’t included in the all-inclusive package. Enjoying a dramatic setting on a wooden terrace overlooking the rocks below, the restaurant serves Mediterranean influenced cuisine alongside a unique tapas menu.

Cocobay has a small spa, an infinity pool to complement its fine beaches, and offers non-motorised water sports such as snorkeling, kayaking and sailing.

Our Opinion

Cocobay is a small, pretty property with the most stunning views, especially from the infinity pool. With accommodation in traditional Caribbean cottages, a small spa and an all-inclusive package which includes great food, the resort offers excellent value for money. Sheer Rocks restaurant is also well worth visiting for the setting alone, with tables positioned on a wooden terrace overlooking the rocks below.

As I wandered around the resort I was constantly in awe of the breathtaking views over the white sand beaches and turquoise sea – I would definitely recommend Cocobay to couples who are looking for somewhere picturesque and romantic with a feeling of rustic luxury.
