Treasure Beach in Barbados is a friendly boutique hotel with 35 luxury suites, set on the glorious white sand of Payne’s beach. The adults-only property is a new addition to the Elegant Hotels group and will reopen on 15 November following renovations.
The hotel’s suites form a horseshoe around the freshwater pool, surrounded by tropical gardens and overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Each has a private patio or balcony and contemporary décor using colours found in the locality including lime green and bright magenta against a white backdrop.
Treasure Beach by Elegant Hotels is home to a superb al fresco restaurant, Kathy’s, which changes its menu daily to make the most of the local produce. Richard’s Bar is a casual venue which serves delicious rum based cocktails, with an excellent house band providing entertainment.
A small spa offers a range of treatments, allowing guests to truly relax in an oasis of calm and tranquility.
For the more active, there are many water sports available including sailing and paragliding as well as scuba diving, wakeboarding and waterskiing.
For golf enthusiasts, guests can visit Sandy Lane’s Country Club course, a challenging course complete with 5 lakes and open fairways. Treasure Beach’s concierge can assist guests in booking tours and excursions, including boat trips and deep sea fishing.
I love the spot this small west coast hotel is in, the stunning ocean out front and not far off, swimming distance for some, is a spot to snorkel with the Turtles. The buildings that house the suites at Treasure Beach are in a horse-shoe shape facing out towards the turquoise sea. Central to the buildings is a newly refurbished pool area, with seating and the hotel’s intimate restaurant. There is also a large grassed area looking out over the water, which would be my favourite spot to and take in the view. The many repeat guests here often get to know each other, and there is a friendly atmosphere which is welcoming. Many of the suites have great views from their bedrooms or the nicely appointed living areas. The old library has been re-furbished to make a delightful new spa which has been put together with care to create a serene and relaxing place for treatments.
