Six Senses Laamu lies to the south and is the only resort on Olhuveli Island, Laamu Atoll making it a truly unique water villa paradise, just a fifteen minute boat ride from the airport at Kadhdhoo. This five star luxury, eco sensitive resort is a perfect destination for couples, families and friends looking to relax on pristine beaches, enjoy glorious sunsets from weathered timber jetties or snorkel its stunning house reef.
The 97 villas are constructed from sustainable bamboo and local materials and float above the Indian Ocean or nestle on land amid the forest of palms. Each villa is contemporary in its design and use of brightly coloured furnishings. With all the features guests might expect from five star accommodation there are also tilted beds to maximize ocean views, treetop decks, net hammocks and glass tables overlooking the sea. There are even glass bathtubs so that no moment is missed to make the most of the serenity of Six Senses and Laamu Atoll.
Dining is of the highest standard whether it’s in one of the three restaurants, bars or even delivered to you on a sandbank! Leaf Restaurant serves Maldivian cuisine using local produce where guests can choose to eat alongside others at a communal table or privately. Offering a Japanese menu including sushi and sashimi dishes, Zen caters for twelve guests each night on its upper deck overlooking the ocean whereas Longitude serves international cuisine in an open-air, two storey restaurant with stunning views. Desserts are also served in the Ice & Chocolate Studio while the Chill Bar hovers in different levels above the water and Sip Sip offers casual all day dining beside the pool.
There is a seaside library with superfast broadband, books and international newspapers; there is even a candlelit Jungle Cinema under the trees. The gym has the latest equipment and upstairs the yoga pavilion is available for classes and meditation. The snorkeling on the house reef is superb, with many parrot fish and green turtles to be seen - there is even a marine biologist resident on the island to name and tell guests more about the beautiful tropical fish they see. The concierge team can also arrange trips through its dive centre to different sites to scuba dive.
The spa has four couple treatment pavilions and one Ayurveda pavilion and offers a wide range of fantastic treatments.
