Medhufushi is simply stunning! Constructed in a traditional Maldvies style using local resources on an untouched & unspoilt atoll, Medhufushi offers a superb range of facilities, all run with supreme efficiency. The island is fringed by a perfect white sand beach and aquamarine lagoon, and covered in tall palm trees. The natural style is reflected in the use of local materials including thatch and timber in the rooms and public buildings.
The 112 rooms are immaculate and comprehensively equipped and are located behind the beach and on stilts over the lagoon, the lagoon suites being accessible only by boat. The Malaafaiy poolside restaurant, overlooks the lagoon and serves excellent buffet style meals with a good selection and offers various theme nights with culinary influences from around the world. The Alfresco restaurant has an excellent choice of beverages and A La Carte specialities with spectacular views of the beach and ocean, great for watching the sun go down!
The wonderful Spa at Medhufushi is open for Ayurvedic massage, classic aromatherapy, hot stone and Maldivian Sand Treatment to cleanse body and mind.
If you like your sand paths swept daily with an immaculate pattern and are looking for the idyllic tropical, get away from it all island, with all the creature comforts and facilities, then Medhufushi is highly recommended. A perfect choice for a honeymoon or special anniversary.
If you're looking for diving in the Maldives the international team of diving instructors will lead you to the underworld pleasures of Meemu Atoll, with more than 30 rarely visited dive sites suitable for all divers from beginners to specialty diving.
With a gorgeous lagoon surrounding the island, the seaplane arrives directly onto the jetty at Medhufushi. The resort has a very friendly and relaxed feel to it, and feels quite intimate. The villas are spacious with a traditional yet contemporary feel to them. The beach is stunning here, and because of the lagoon there is a fantastic water sports centre- including motorized options.
Although not included on the All-Inclusive package I would highly recommend a trip to the Alfresco restaurant, located next to the Vilu Bar. The a la carte menu here is lovely, the rack of lamb I had was simply delicious.
Medhufushi also has some great nightly entertainment in the Vilu Bar, where everyone comes together to create a great atmosphere. I was lucky enough to see some traditional Maldivian dancing and folk music which was brilliant.
Whilst staying at Medhufushi you must go to the neighbouring island and visit the local schools, and see how the boats are made- a great experience!
