Dining venues at Turtle Beach are varied and cater well for children, with regular evening entertainment featuring steel bands and calypso. The Waterfront Restaurant is a beachside venue with ocean views and a nautical theme, serving snacks throughout the day and offering an informal area for lunch and dinner. Breakfast is at Chelonia, another open-air restaurant which also serves themed buffets in the evening, while Asiagos is an elegant venue which serves fine Italian cuisine for dinner. Guests at Turtle Beach are also welcome to dine at Crystal Cove and Waves Hotel & Spa as part of the all-inclusive package, both part of the Elegant Hotels group and located on the west coast of Barbados - find out more about the other hotels in the group.
There is an excellent range of activities on offer including a large gym, two floodlit tennis courts and a good selection of non motorised water sports. Turtle Beach has a newly refurbished complimentary children’s club which is operated by trained professionals and caters for children aged from 3 to 11 years old. The new ‘Flying Fish Kids’ Club’ offers an authentic Bajan experience including fun lessons about the history of Barbados and to learn the local dialect as well as classes in Calypso dancing, steel band and Bajan cookery.
A selection of lively bars and restaurants can be found within easy walking distance but out of earshot, while the weekly Oistins Fish Fry can be reached on foot within 10 minutes and allows guests to mingle with locals. St Lawrence Gap, one of most famous areas of southern Barbados, is a short taxi ride or a 20 minute walk away, offering an even wider choice of bars, restaurants and nightlife.

Located on a beautiful stretch of sandy beach on the south coast of the island, Turtle Beach is another great option for families as there are lots of different room options that work for families of up to 6. I loved the beach here, and although the sea is more choppy on the south coast don't let this put you off - I saw adults and children alike having a great time in the surf. Facilities here are great, with a kids club, selection of water sports, gym, tennis and the recent additions of the coffee shop and ice cream parlour. My children were there every morning waiting for them to open! The little touches provided here that are part of the Elegant style such as pop up snow cones on the board walk, or ice lollies delivered to you at your sun lounger really make for a very relaxing holiday. If you are looking for a great family break that's close to the nightlife of St Lawrence gap, or if you just want to relax in the resort this property is hard to beat and offers great value for money.
