The Inn at English Harbour is an exclusive, family-run beachfront hotel located on the southwest coast of Antigua, perfectly positioned on a beautiful wooded headland at the entrance of the historic English Harbour. Set on its own white sand beach within 19 acres of tropical gardens, the resort’s colonial-style buildings are five minutes from the bars, restaurants and boutiques of English Harbour.
Providing a blend of history and charm, the accommodation offers the finest in luxurious living with only 28 rooms including stylish Junior Suites and more traditional, cottage style Beach Cabanas. The four Beach Cabana rooms have white rattan furnishings, while the 24 Junior Suites have cool Caribbean-style Louvre doors leading on to verandahs beside the gardens. Several Junior Suites interconnect, providing ideal family accommodation for children over the age of 10 years.
The Inn at English Harbour has its own white sandy beach with sunbeds and umbrellas, as well as a private jetty. There is a great range of complimentary activities available including laser sailing, paddle boarding, kayaking and snorkelling. Water-skiing, scuba diving and deep-sea fishing trips can all be arranged, while those in search of relaxation can book treatments in the small spa.
Stays at The Inn are on a bed and breakfast, half board or all-inclusive basis - the hotel has earned the reputation of serving some of the best international cuisine on Antigua with the support of outstanding service and an extensive wine cellar. The traditional Stone Bar and Terrace Restaurant in the original house provide a wonderful setting for afternoon tea or for an al fresco, candlelit dinner under the stars. Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and drinks can be taken in the casual Beach Bar and Reef Restaurant, found on the beach by the jetty.
The Inn at English Harbour is perfect for couples and ideal for weddings, honeymoons and small groups. It is a great base for Antigua Race Week (April) and Antigua Boat Show (December).

This hotel has got elegant holidays down to a fine art. A small family run property, The Inn offers a personal touch, with staff and guests alike, that have remained loyal for many years. The colonial style buildings blend in beautifully to the manicured gardens leading down to the typically stunning Antigua white sand beach. Passing the pool on route, I found it difficult not to jump straight in. The Beach Cabanas book up months in advance, but for a little extra the Junior Suites offer luxury accommodation that will leave you feeling truly spoilt.
One of my favourite things about the hotel is the location, which feels so quaint and peaceful, yet just a boat or car ride around the corner you can find the fascinating and often bustling area of Nelson’s Dockyard and English Harbour.
No stay at the hotel would be complete without a trip to the Seafood fest which takes place at English Harbour every Friday night. For seafood lovers such as myself, this is what a Caribbean holiday is all about!
For those of you that are really organised and book your holiday in advance, try to coordinate a stay at The Inn with Antigua Sailing Week which usually takes place at the end of April- this will be a memory that stays with you forever!
