Sandy Lane is a five-star hotel which is renowned for being one of the most luxurious and exclusive destinations in Barbados. The prestigious golf and spa retreat is set among tropical gardens with mature mahogany trees alongside a spectacular white sand beach on the platinum west coast. Offering a country house style and superb service, Sandy Lane has 112 guest rooms and suites as well as a 5 bedroom villa in its exceptional grounds. Each of the luxurious accommodation options are spacious, elegant and extremely comfortable, each with open air patio areas and views of the gardens or the Caribbean Sea. Two bedroom suites cater for families, while the incredibly luxurious Sandy Lane Suites boast a heated infinity pool on their terrace.

Sandy Lane offers four outstanding restaurants, each serving wonderful cuisine in an exquisite location. Overlooking the beachfront is L’Acajou which serves Mediterranean cuisine, with Bajan Blue located on the spacious lower terrace and offering all day dining as well as a famous Sunday Brunch. The Spa Cafe is located next to the hotel’s swimming pool by the cascading waterfall and offers a casual menu throughout the day, while The Country Club serves leisurely lunches and cocktails, located high above the coast with views over the golf course and to the Caribbean Sea beyond. Alongside the restaurants are a number of bars which are each perfect for different occasions, from daytime refreshments at the swim up pool bar and sundowners at the Beach Bar to pre-dinner drinks and canapes at the Monkey Bar.

Sandy Lane boasts three of the best golf courses in the world, one of which is a Tom Fazio creation carved from an old stone quarry for the exclusive use of hotel guests. Each of the world-renowned courses promise stunning views and spectacular terrain.

Water sports enthusiasts can take part in a range of activities including water skiing, kayaking, catamaran sailing and trips to swim with dolphins. There are nine floodlit tennis courts which can be used by hotel guests free of charge, while a resident tennis professional is on hand to give lessons. Possible excursions include island tours and coastal cruises.
Sandy Lane is a family-friendly hotel with an excellent kids’ club - The Treehouse Club organises activity programmes for children which include arts and crafts, drama and sports, while The Den is a space which is dedicated to teenagers.

The world famous Barbados Hotel, Sandy Lane, certainly lived up to my expectations. On a holiday here you will feel like star, you can relax in your lavishly appointed room with service available at the press of a button. Similarly on the beach you have buttons on the lounger-side umbrellas for whatever your request – be it a designer cocktail or a culinary treat. The 47,000 square foot spa is like no-other I have seen - intimate, relaxing, and luxurious. You can easily see why the 11 treatment suites, each with own private garden and pool, book up quick.

Hotel Information

Children: Children are welcome at Sandy Lane. The Treehouse Club programme is for children aged 3 years and above. There is a playground area, morning, afternoon and early evening programmes every day. Special children and family programmes are offered during the holidays and summer months as well as afternoon films and film nights. Themed children's evening dinner parties are popular as are the pool parties.

Toddlers: Children under the age of 3 years can visit the Treehouse Club with an adult or parent for games, toys, dinner and entertainment. The Den, located on the lower level of The Treehouse Club, is especially for teenagers where they can enjoy their own lounge with adjoining games room with pool tables, football, electronic and board games, jukebox and computer stations. There are also two large screen televisions and DVDs. Additional activities for teenagers include island tours, sports clinics, watersports and coastal cruises.

Golf: Three golf courses - The Old Nine, The Country Club and the Green Monkey (a Tom Fazio creation carved from an old stone quarry which is exclusive to Sandy Lane guests).

Spa: Marble reception area and staircases leads to the treatment suites, changing rooms and water therapies. Full treatment menu with lavishly appointed treatment suites, a full fitness facility and a complete menu of spa services carried out by highly trained therapists. Open to residents over 16 years of age.

Meal arrangements: Stays at Sandy Lane are on a bed and breakfast basis.

Dining: There are four restaurants. L'Acajou specialises in light cuisine; Beachside Bajan Blue - an informal restaurant offering all day dining of European, Caribbean and Asian influenced cuisine as well as Sunday Brunch, themed buffet evenings, wine bar, sushi station and state-of-the-art grill. The Spa Café offers soups and salads, sandwiches and light mains throughout the day. The Clubhouse Restaurant - light leisurely lunches, relaxed coffees or cocktails while watching the sun go down. A private dining option is available.

Wine Cellar: Over 12,000 bottles (both Old and New World wines).

Dress Code: Beach and pool wear should not be worn in the restaurants and bars; cover-ups should be worn during the day while dining casually at Bajan Blue, the Beach Bar and throughout the hotel's public areas. Long trousers and shirts should be worn in the restaurant and public areas after 7pm.

Accommodation
Some rooms interconnect and can only be guaranteed to parents with children under 12 years. Three or more adjacent rooms cannot be guaranteed. All rooms include king or twin beds, air conditioning, ceiling fans, private bathroom with separate bath and shower, balcony or terrace, in room movies and TV.

Orchid Room: Located in the tropical gardens. These rooms have fine furnishings to create elegant rooms with large well-equipped bathrooms. The bedroom opens onto a furnished patio/balcony. Maximum occupancy: 2 adults + 1 child (72sqm).

Ocean Room: Adjacent to the resort reception, these Ocean Rooms overlook the beautiful crescent beach and are elegant and comfortable rooms. The furnished patio/balcony has stunning views. Maximum occupancy: 2 adults + 1 child (65.5sqm).

Luxury Ocean Room: Located in the Seahorse and Dolphin Wings. These rooms are extremely spacious with large bathrooms and a separate makeup area. The expansive balconies open onto views of the beach, ocean and evening sunsets. Maximum occupancy: 2 adults + 1 child (80.5sqm).

Luxury Orchid Suite: Two-bedroom garden suites in the Orchid Wing. Complete with a stylish living area, patio with a dining area and a master bedroom with an elegant bathroom. The second bedroom has a separate bathroom and a private balcony. Maximum occupancy: 4 adults or 2 adults + 3 children (146.5sqm).

Dolphin Suite: One-bedroom suites in the Dolphin Wing. These suites offer spacious accommodation with a large living room, a patio with a dining area and a stunning bedroom with an elegant en suite bathroom. There is also an expansive balcony overlooking the Caribbean. Maximum occupancy: 2 adults + 1 child (134sqm).

Luxury Dolphin Suite: These elegant two-bedroom suites in the Dolphin Wing are perfect for families. There is a living room, a patio with a dining area and main bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe and a master bathroom. There is also a separate powder room. The second guest bedroom has its own bathroom and a private balcony. Maximum occupancy: 4 adults or 2 adults + 3 children (146.5sqm).

Penthouse: The two-bedroom penthouses are located in the Orchid Wing and set in beautifully manicured gardens. Extremely spacious accommodation with a large foyer, a living room, a patio with a dining area, kitchen, main bedroom with a bathroom, whirlpool tub and a further bedroom with a bathroom. Interconnect with the two-bedroom Luxury Orchid Suite to create a four-bedroom penthouse. Maximum occupancy: 4 adults or 2 adults + 3 children (369sqm).

The Villa: A stately five bedroom villa located in the heart of the resort and set within its own beautiful gardens. This stunning Barbados luxury villa offers complete seclusion. The villa has a team of dedicated staff and access to all of Sandy Lane's services. Maximum occupancy: 10 adults + 4 children (678sqm).
