Sweetfield Manor is a beautiful boutique hotel in the hills above Bridgetown, located just a few minutes from the beaches and other tourist attractions of south-western Barbados. The peaceful property occupies lush tropical gardens with panoramic views towards the coastline, pristine lawns, a koi pond, shady courtyard and pretty lagoon pool while peacocks roam freely.
The hotel has just 10 individually decorated guestrooms, all with air-conditioning and an en suite bathroom as well as amenities including complimentary Wi-Fi and L’Occitane toiletries. Seven of the rooms are in the main house with the remaining three occupy cottages in the garden, the largest of which features a kitchenette as well as a dining room, living area and private verandah. Unique rooms are elegant in style with modern touches, featuring antique furnishings, coral stone walls and pine floors along with colourful accents.
Facilities at the hotel include a lagoon-style swimming pool which is beautifully landscaped to seem like a natural pond, a Jacuzzi and a spa where guests can enjoy massages and beauty treatments. Yoga classes are held at the property twice per week.
You now can enjoy a sumptuous breakfast which can be enjoyed in a range of locations throughout the property. Sweetfield Manor also serves a delicious lunch using fresh and local ingredients and can put together tasty picnic baskets, as well as recommending other places to eat nearby, from local spots to gourmet restaurants.
The newly opened restaurant Pavao (peacock in Portuguese) is Barbados’ most distinctive fine dining experience and features a fusion of Caribbean and International cuisines delivered by an award-winning chef Trevon Stoute and hit team.

A highlight for me was the four course breakfast which I ate in the gardens - melon and parma ham was followed by homemade bread and cakes, fish served with plantain and a cheese soufflé, and French toast with cherry compote to finish. The perfect way to start the day!

Airport: Grantley Adams International Airport is approximately 25 minutes away from the hotel by car.
Location: Sweetfield Manor is located in the outskirts of Bridgetown, about 10 minutes’ drive from the city centre and just 5 minutes’ drive from the nearest beach.
Spa: A small spa offers guests massages, manicures and pedicures.
Excursions: A concierge service is available to arrange a vast range of excursions to discover Barbados, from sightseeing tours to boat charters. There is a complimentary daily shuttle to a choice of nearby beaches.
Meal Arrangements: Stays at Sweetfield Manor are on a room only basis.
Dining: The hotel’s restaurant serves breakfast every day, while hotel guests can also enjoy a la carte lunches and dinners accompanied by an extensive wine list. In December, the restaurant is also open for lunch to non-residents.
Accommodation
Each of the 10 guestrooms are unique in layout and style, all with an en suite bathroom, complimentary Wi-Fi and air-conditioning. Other amenities include cable TV, a fridge, safe, hairdryer, iron & ironing board, tea & coffee making facilities, luxury linens and bathrobes.
Courtyard Room: These rooms are located in buildings outside the main plantation house, each with a queen-size bed and direct access to the gardens. Maximum occupancy: 2 adults.
Courtyard Room with Private Patio: Similar to the Courtyard Room however featuring a private guest only courtyard patio area with day bed. Maximum occupancy: 2 adults.
Manor Suites: Located in the original plantation house or in a newer extension to the main building, these suites all have a queen-size bed and views over the courtyard, gardens or ocean. Maximum occupancy: 3 adults.
Honeymoon Suites: Similar to the Manor Suites, however featuring a king-size bed, premium fittings and views. Maximum occupancy: 2 adults.
Carriage House: This charming cottage occupies the plantation house’s former stables, featuring a large king-size bedroom, kitchenette, dining area, small sitting area and loft with twin beds. There is also a covered patio overlooking the grounds. Maximum occupancy: 5 adults.
