Lakaz Chamarel Exclusive Lodge offers a unique and innovative concept in Mauritius. Set amidst the mountains of Chamarel and surrounded by natural beauty, this boutique hotel is an ideal choice for those seeking exclusivity and serenity. If you are looking for somewhere to get away from it all, or seeking an alternative to a traditional beach resort for part of your stay in Mauritius, we cannot recommend Lakaz Chamarel highly enough.
Accommodation at Lakaz Chamarel comprises of 20 rooms and suites that have the feel of exclusive, mountain lodges. The standard and superior rooms are the closest to the main hotel facilities and overlook the resort’s two swimming pools, one of which is located in front of the standard rooms and the other in front of the superior rooms. The garden pool suites meanwhile are found in various locations within the grounds and one suite even boasts a unique lakefront location. The sea view pool suites are a little further from the main hotel facilities, but offer privacy and stunning ocean views from their elevated hillside position. These spacious suites provide the perfect luxurious, mountain escape.
The restaurant at Lakaz Chamarel is set at the heart of the hotel grounds and showcases the finest Mauritian flavours and local produce. Breakfast is buffet style, and the tempting selection includes eggs from the local village, homemade jam and a mouth-watering fresh fruit. A varied a la carte menu is offered for lunch, but the hotel is also happy to recommend local restaurants in Chamarel that guests might like to try. For dinner, guests can choose from a daily set menu including an appetiser and choice of starters, main courses and deserts, or an extensive a la menu is available. Just steps from the restaurant is the hotel’s cosy bar, where guests have the choice of being served by the attentive staff or can simply serve themselves if they prefer.
Lakaz Chamarel adjoins the picturesque village of Chamarel, home to the famous Seven Coloured Sands and Rhumerie de Chamarel. Within easy reach of the hotel are the hiking trails of the Black River Gorges national park, where visitors can experience spectacular scenery, beautiful waterfalls and plenty of interesting flora and fauna. Within the hotel grounds, guests have access to a communal lounge, a small fitness centre, spa, complimentary yoga sessions and a sauna. Bicycle hire is also available, and the hotel can arrange a picnic basket for guests to take along. For those wanting to spend the day relaxing on the beach, there is a complimentary shuttle service operating three times a day.

Children: Children over the age of 8 years of age are welcome at Lakaz Chamarel Exclusive Lodge, however please be advised that there are no specific facilities such as kids club or seperate childrens areas.
Location: Lakaz Chamarel Exclusive Lodge is located in the south-west corner of Mauritius, approximately a 60-minute drive from Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport.
Dining: Lakaz Chamarel Exclusive Lodge has a restaurant and bar in resort. The open-air restaurant opens for an American-style buffet breakfast, a la carte lunch and dinner with a mixture of Mediterranean and Mauritian cuisine on offer.
Accommodation: The 20 rooms and suites at Lakaz Chamarel are scattered around the main building, each decorated to represent the diversity of different cultures on the island. Facilities include open-air showers, ceiling fan, citronella cream, bathrobes, slippers, mosquito nets, sponges & pool towels, pillow menu (for a more comfortable sleep), mini bar, hairdryer, telephone, tea, and coffee making facilities, safe, complimentary WiFi and a complimentary bottle of water upon arrival.
Lakaz Standard Room: These rooms open onto the swimming pool which is close to the main house, terrace and open-air bathroom. Maximum occupancy: 2 adults. (50 sqm).
Superior Suite: Each with its own terrace, its bedroom separated from the living room, and the shower and the bathtub in open air. Maximum occupancy: 2 adults + 2 children or 3 adults. (80 sqm).
Garden Pool Suite: With garden views, each with its own private swimming pool and open-air shower. Maximum occupancy: 2 adults + 2 children or 3 adults. (90 sqm).
Seaview Pool Suite: As above, with views of the sea. Maximum occupancy: 2 adults + 1 child or 3 adults. (105 sqm)
Exclusive Suite: With a private swimming pool, gazebo and open-air shower. “Canapés” aperitifs served in the Suite every evening / Platter of Fruits Or / and Pastries and 1 Bottle of still water every day. Maximum occupancy: 2 adults + 1 child or 3 adults. (115 sqm)
