Angsana Velavaru is a desert-island delight which has recently undergone a multi-million pound renovation and expansion by enhancing the product offering at this iconic resort. Located in the centre of its own lagoon, the resort boasts stunning white sand beaches, magnificent turquoise waters and a house reef boasting 30 amazing dive spots. With “101 Activities” on offer ranging from Marine Lab conservation projects, a pampering treatment in the Angsana Spa or simply relaxing by the main infinity pool whilst soaking up the island’s beauty, Angsana Velavaru truly has something for everyone.
Accommodation at the resort is either found on the beach or within the lagoon on the edge of the reef, some with private pools. The luxurious island villas all enjoy a private beachfront setting with private gardens and a comfortable seating area on the sand which is perfect for evening dining. The two-storey overwater villas are found in a cluster just one kilometre away from the island, reached by boat and each fully equipped with luxury amenities including a designer bathtub and offering private water access - perfect for snorkelling and swimming.
The island has a number of dining options including Azzurro where Mediterranean influenced dishes are served in an overwater setting by the water villas; the open-air Funa Restaurant where guests can enjoy Pan-Asian cuisine; and Kaani, a casual beachfront buffet restaurant serving international favourites. There is also a glass-walled beach pavilion where guests can enjoy custom dining experiences, while Velavaru also has a cookery school where you can learn how to prepare traditional dishes with the resort chef.
Angsana Velavaru has great watersports facilities including scuba diving, snorkelling, windsurfing, catamaran sailing and canoeing plus a PADI 5 Star Gold Dive Centre with dives and courses suitable for beginners to dive master levels.
The Kid's Club offers fun-filled activities for all ages - treasure hunts, 'little chef' cooking classes, t-shirt painting, sand castle building and sea life discovery. There's even a Marine Conservation Lab with educational activities for all ages such as coral planting, marine biology presentations and snorkelling safaris.

As an avid diver I loved Angsana Velavaru's own house reef. We explored dozens of diving spots and saw a whole host of wonderful fish, but couldn't cover them all (up to 30!) Next time!

Children: Children are welcome all year round and there is a Kid's Club which is complimentary for youngsters aged 4 to 11 years old.
Due to the design and safety issues, In Ocean Villas are not recommended for families with children under the age of 12 - however, this will be at the discretion of parents.

Meal Arrangements: Guests can choose from three different all-inclusive packages. Guests staying on the all-inclusive 'dine' package can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner at Kaani restaurant, whilst guests staying in the InOcean villas can also chose to dine at Azzurro. All-inclusive 'dine' also includes alcoholic beverages, including a selection of wines by the glass, beer, international branded and house spirits and cocktails, while non-alcoholic beverages include soft drinks, mocktails and a selection of teas and coffees. Mini-bar beverages and snacks are also included. The all-inclusive 'style' package icnludes all these benefits, plus access to the Funa Club Lounge, premium bar services and mini-bar inclusions, a complimentary special dining experience per stay and a complimentary $50 spa credit per villa per day. The all-inclusive 'max' package offers a daily spa and recreation credit of up to $500 per villa per day, as well as all the benefits of the 'dine' and 'style' packages.
Restaurants & bars: There are three restaurants and one additional bar at Angsana Velavaru. Azzurro is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner serving Italian cuisine; Funa Restaurant serves Pan-Asian cuisine; while Kaani is a casual beachfront buffet restaurant serving international favourites. Kuredi Bar serves light snacks and drinks throughout the day.
Accommodation
All of the 113 villas have LCD TV, CD player, IDD telephone, Wi-Fi internet connection, an in-villa safe, mini-bar, tea and coffee making facilities, a hairdryer and house robes, individually controlled air-conditioning and a ceiling fan. InOncean Villas are located on stilts 1km from the man island, each with a butler to assist guests during their stay and the resort runs a ferry regularly throughout the day/night.
Beachfront Villa: These bright and colourful villas have a king sized bed, an expansive furnished veranda leading to the beach with views of the Indian Ocean, sun loungers in the private garden plus indoor and outdoor showers. Maximum occupancy: 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child. Approx. 950 sq ft.
Beachfront Infinity Pool Villa: These spacious villas are similar to the Beachfront Villas but with additional indoor and outdoor space, inlcluding an infinity pool overlooking the beach and the ocean and a private garden with an outdoor bath. Maximum occupancy: 2 adults and 1 child. Approx. 1120 sq ft.
Deluxe Beachfront Pool Villa: These spacious villas offer additional indoor and outdoor space, including a private pool with lounge area and outdoor shower in a private garden and a Thai Sala overlooking the beach and ocean. Maximum occupancy: 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child. Approx. 2225 sq ft.
Velavaru Two Bedroom Pool Villa: A large beachfront villa which is perfect for guests wishing to holiday in style with friends, with a king sized bedroom as well as a sofa bed in a separate living area. There is a swimming pool in the private garden and a furnished veranda overlooking the beach. This villa can be connected to a Beachfront Infinity Pool Villa. Maximum occupancy: 3 adults and 2 children or 2 adults and 3 children. Approx. 3475 sq ft.
Angsana Three Bedroom Pool Villa: A large beachfront villa with two king sized bedrooms, a twin bedroom, separate dining area and extensive outdoor space. A spacious swimming pool, outdoor shower and lounge are found in the private garden, whilst a Thai Sala overlooks the beach and ocean. Maximum occupancy: 6 adults or 4 adults and 2 children. Approx. 5100 sq ft.
InOcean Pool Villa: Offering either sunrise or sunset views, these spacious two-storey villas boast an infinity pool on an expansive wooden deck with direct access to the lagoon, a hammock suspended above the water and a jetty leading out to a daybed. Inside there is a king sized bedroom, separate lounge area and luxurious bathroom with a bathtub beside glass walls offering endless ocean views, while upstairs is a rooftop deck and pavilion which can be used for spa treatments or dining. Maximum occupancy: 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child. Approx. 1880 sq ft.
Deluxe InOcean Pool Villa: Offering either sunrise or sunset views, these villas are similar to the InOcean Pool Villas but even more spacious. Maximum occupancy: 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child. Approx. 2500 sq ft.
Deluxe InOcean Two Bedroom Pool Villa: These villas are similar to the InOcean Pool Villas but offer even more space with a separate twin bedroom and an even larger rooftop deck. Maximum occupancy: 5 adults or 2 adults and 2 children. Approx. 3090 sq ft.
