La Pirogue is a charming resort in an enviable location on the west coast of Mauritius. With a beautiful stretch of white sand beach stretching the length of the resort and perfectly positioned for watching spectacular sunsets, guests at La Pirogue will get a true taste of authentic Mauritian hospitality.
Accommodation at La Pirogue is comprised of 248 individual thatched bungalows with private outdoor space, all offering ground floor accommodation. High ceilings and white walls make the rooms feel spacious, whilst vibrantly coloured furnishings add a touch of Mauritian charm. Some bungalows are semi-detached, with interconnecting options perfect for families, whilst others are standalone, offering views either of the ocean or the tropical gardens.
Guests at La Pirogue have plenty of choice when it comes to dining venues. A sumptuous buffet breakfast and dinner is served at the open-plan Wolmar restaurant, whilst Magenta Seafood and Coconut Café are open for lunch and dinner. Magenta Seafood specialises in fish dishes and hosts a beach barbeque once a week accompanied by traditional Mauritian Sega music, whilst Coconut Café offers authentic local street food. Light meals and snacks are also available during the day at Le Morne beach bar, which is also the perfect spot to enjoy a cocktail whilst watching the sunset.
La Pirogue offers a wide range of motorised and non-motorised watersports from the beach, as well as a PADI dive centre. Guests can also take advantage of unlimited green fees at two golf courses on the island, along with complimentary transfers there and back. There is a kids club and a teens club to ensure younger guests are kept entertained, and guests staying at La Pirogue can make use of the tennis courts and spa facilities at the neighbouring Sugar Beach Resort.

Children: Children are welcome at La Pirogue, A Sun Resort. The Sun Kids Club is open daily from 9.30am - 10pm and available to children between the ages of 2 - 11 years of age. The Sun Teens Club is also open for teenages between the ages of 12 - 17 years of age.
Location: La Pirogue, A Sunlife Resort is located in the town of Flic en Flac on the west coast of Mautritius, a 65-minute drive from Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport.
Facilities: The resort has two swimming pools, one by the coast with a hot tub in the middle and the other in the Cinq Mondes Spa located at the sister hotel - Sugar Beach. Complimentary sports activities include kayaks, pedalos, zayak sea sled, aqua aerobics, jogging track, mini golf, giant chess, football, badminton, beach volleyball, ping pong and tennis. There are plenty of land and sea activities available to book in resort too. Beach gazebos are available to hire and come with a minibar, USB charging points, a ceiling fan and outdoor shower. And you'll have a butler service, too.
Dining: There are three restaurants at La Pirogue and guests also have access to dine at the sister hotel, Sugar Beach. Breakfast and dinner buffets are offered at the Wolmar Restaurant daily. The Coconut Cafe is open between 10am - 10.30pm and offers a la carte lunches and buffet dinners. Magenta Seafood Restaurant serves a la carte lunch and dinner, plus a seafood beach barbeque once a week.
