Guadeloupe is an archipelago in the Lesser Antilles consisting of six inhabited islands and several uninhabited islands. The countries main two islands are Grande-Terre and Basse-Terre, and these are separated by a narrow sea channel called The Rivière Salée. Grand-Terre is famous for its beautiful beaches, sheltered bays and charming little seaside towns. Basse-Terre on the other hand is less developed and is home to the lush Parc National de Guadeloupe, boasting spectacular volcanic landscapes.
